| Project Information: |
The study defined and compared several alternative solutions for wastewater treatment, conveyance and reuse for irrigation in two areas close to the town.
The selected solution provides for reuse of 8.5 MCM per year in the first stage (year 1990). According to this scheme, all the town's wastewaters will be conveyed to the existing treatment plant, located in the Sarah Valley, where they will undergo primary treatment.
Part of the effluent will undergo additional treatment in aerated ponds, in the Valley and then be impounded in seasonal storage reservoirs for irrigation of the surrounding area. The remaining 3.5 MCM/year will be conveyed to the Lahav area south to Be'er Sheva, where they will be used without additional treatment for irrigation of non-sensitive crops. |
