The company has also developed a set of software packages for use in the planning and design of water supply schemes. Its multidisciplinary planning teams have refined computer-based mathematical models to provide state-of-the-art solutions for planning and design activities at various levels.

TAHAL has developed an approach that integrates the planning tools of hydraulic engineering with the latest advances in the field of operational control. This new approach supersedes traditional control systems, permitting remote operation of the various components of water supply systems, thereby allowing optimization of municipal water supply systems and minimizing the use of often-scarce water resources. TAHAL’s original concept is based on integration of the water supply system with its own Operational Control System (OCS). The OCS allows optimization of operation, with emphasis on priority use of the lowest cost water, and includes implementation of a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system that supplies a steady stream of information.
